Chief Financial Officer
JOB PURPOSE
- The candidate should have deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), disclosures, and ability to interpret financial data.
Job Description:
- Oversee the management and accounting of the company’s fixed and non-current assets.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and tagging of all assets.
- Coordinate periodic asset verification, tagging, and physical inventory exercises.
- Monitor capital projects and ensure timely capitalization upon completion.
- Track and record asset acquisitions, disposals, impairments, and transfers in compliance with accounting standards.
- Compute and review monthly depreciation charges and reconcile with general ledger balances.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and audit requirements related to asset management.
- Prepare asset-related schedules and reports for management decision-making and external audit purposes.
- Booking of salary Journal Vouchers.
- Booking of provision account receivable.
- Accrual for trade creditor, booking of invoices and payments.
- Filing of source documents.
- Maintaining CBN Amortization schedule.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related disciplines.
- A master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or other numerate sciences is an added advantage.
Professional Qualifications (Mandatory)
- Chartered Accountant (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Member of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) is an added advantage.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 2-5 years post-qualification experience in finance and accounting roles.
- Experience in a DisCo or FMCG organisation with not less than ₦15 billion monthly turnover.
- Proven experience in final accounts preparation, tax management, budget and budgetary control.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Hands-on experience with ERP/Accounting Systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics NAV, Sage, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, Nigerian tax laws, budgeting, and financial modelling.
