About the Job:

  • The Channels Business Officer (CBO) shall report directly to the Head of Sales, Marketing and Product Development and is responsible for driving the sales of savings products and alternative delivery channel (ADC) services. The role focuses on achieving branch savings targets through active marketing, client acquisition, and field engagement. The officer supports promotional activities, ensures proper account opening and documentation, and maintains strong customer relationships to prevent account dormancy. A key part of the role is to generate leads, convert them into active accounts, and provide insights to improve sales performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Channels Business Officer

  • Proactively cross-sell all bank savings products and alternative delivery channel (ADC) services in line with approved guidelines.
  • Consistently achieve assigned savings targets while ensuring portfolio diversity in accordance with the Bank’s strategic focus.
  • Support the Head of Sales and Marketing in executing area-specific savings promotions and contribute to the development and implementation of branch-level action plans.
  • Lead and support the branch marketing team in organizing field events, ensuring potential leads are captured and followed through to successful account opening.
  • Open client accounts in full compliance with Know Your Customer (KYC) and statutory documentation requirements as stipulated in the Bank’s policy.
  • Ensure newly activated accounts remain active by conducting timely follow-ups and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Provide excellent customer service by building strong relationships, promptly addressing client needs, and adhering to FINCA’s Customer Service Standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, sales activities, and market feedback.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance, customer insights, and market trends to the supervisor.
  • Gather relevant market intelligence and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities and informed sales strategies.
  • Offer actionable recommendations to management on enhancing sales performance and customer engagement.
  • Effectively manage challenging customer interactions with professionalism, ensuring timely resolution of issues in line with established guidelines.
  • Perform any other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned, in line with FINCA’s operational policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree/HND in related field – Business, Marketing etc.
  • 2 years or more experience in sales and or customer service
  • Good communication skill. Fluency in English language; written and spoken.
  • Ability to communicate in the local language (Igbo) preferrable.
  • Good Excel Skill.
