  • Advocacy for Resilience and Innovative Solutions for Youths, Women, and Children Empowerment (ARISE) is a women-led humanitarian and development organization dedicated to turning the challenges of conflict, displacement, natural disasters, and economic hardship into opportunities for resilience, empowerment, and sustainable development.
  • ARISE works hand-in-hand with communities and partners to design and implement initiatives in education, food security and livelihoods, protection, climate action, good governance, and child nutrition. Role Purpose

  • The Business Development, Partnerships, and Grants Officer will play a key role in expanding ARISE’s reach and strengthening its resource base. This role will focus on identifying opportunities, cultivating relationships, and supporting the design of innovative, high-quality proposals. The officer will work closely with the Executive Director and senior management to advance ARISE’s strategic

Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development & Execution:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of ARISE’s business development and partnership strategy to diversify and expand funding streams.
  • Identify potential donors, funding mechanisms, and partners to increase ARISE’s budget and scale of impact.
  • Support the Executive Director in articulating ARISE’s value proposition across platforms and in engagements with stakeholders.

Partnership Building & Relationship Management:

  • Map and track funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, and innovation challenges aligned with ARISE’s thematic areas.
  • Represent ARISE at key events, workshops, and community-of-practice forums to showcase the organization’s work and identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with potential partners, funders, and consortium leads.
  • Coordinate partnership meetings, donor briefings, and stakeholder consultations.

Grant Writing & Proposal Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal development process, including prospecting, drafting, editing, compliance checks, and timely submission.
  • Ensure proposals are competitive, aligned with donor requirements, and reflect ARISE’s technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with field teams to gather data and success stories that strengthen proposals and donor reports.

Technical & Program Support:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of ARISE’s programs and thematic focus areas to effectively position the organization to donors and partners.
  • Conduct field visits (where required) to document program achievements and identify opportunities for scaling.

Requirements
Who We’re Looking For:

  • We are seeking a motivated and results-driven professional who is passionate about resource mobilization and partnership-building.
  • The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Interested candidates should possess a Master’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in business development, fundraising, or partnership management, preferably within NGOs or development agencies.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, and managing donor relationships.
  • Strong track record in grant/proposal writing with successful fundraising outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Preferred Skills/Attributes:
  • Knowledge of humanitarian and development donor landscapes (governments, foundations, multilaterals).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to think creatively about resource mobilization.
  • Commitment to ARISE’s values of leadership, accountability, partnership, teamwork, and change management.
