Business Development Manager

Role Overview:

  • We are looking for a Business Development Manager (Partnerships & Growth Lead) — an execution, results-driven professional who will spearhead sales, partnerships, growth and commercial strategy to rapidly grow HealthVest’s impact and revenue.

This person will be responsible for:

  • Driving revenue growth through strategic sales execution.
  • Building a robust network of hospitals, pharmacies, labs, gyms, and wellness providers that join our care network.
  • Negotiating and closing discount partnerships (20–40%) to make care affordable for our users.
  • Designing and executing a scalable growth strategy across markets.
  • Leading a small team in sales, marketing, and partnerships, ensuring all KPIs are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Partnerships & Sales

  • Identify, pitch, and close B2B partnerships with healthcare providers (hmos, hospitals, pharmacies, labs, gyms, wellness centers, insurers, etc.).
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring up to 40% provider discounts for HealthVest members.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline, closing strategic partnerships every quarter.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with key partners.

Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Ideate, define and implement HealthVest’s commercial and growth strategy.
  • Develop sales playbooks, pricing models, and market entry strategies.
  • Lead market research to identify growth opportunities and competitive positioning.
  • Drive adoption and usage of HealthVest Wallet and other products.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and coach the sales & growth team to deliver on ambitious targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing to design campaigns, pitches, and collateral that support sales execution.
  • Report regularly to the CEO and board on sales pipeline, KPIs, and growth projections.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Partnership Growth:

  • Onboard at least 500 new providers (pharmacies, hospitals, labs, gyms) within the first quarter.
  • Achieve average negotiated discount of 20–40% across the network.

Sales & Revenue:

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly sales targets to drive revenue (to be defined at hire)
  • Secure at least 10+ B2B institutional contracts (e.g., hmos, insurers, telcos, employers).

User Growth:

  • Contribute to the acquisition of 10,000 active HealthVest users in 6–12 months.
  • Ensure 80% partner satisfaction and long-term retention.

Strategy & Execution:

  • Deliver a scalable growth roadmap for Q4 2025 and 2026.
  • Regularly track, report, and optimize commercial KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–5+ years in business development, sales, or commercial leadership (preferably in healthtech, fintech, insurance, or B2B services).
  • Proven track record of closing large-scale B2B partnerships.
  • Strong experience in sales leadership, pipeline management, and negotiations.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare, insurance, or technology ecosystems in Africa is a plus.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and networking skills.
  • Data-driven with strong analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • A self-led, innovative person with a high level of execution.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: Salary range (#180,000 – #200,000) with growth opportunities.
