Description

  • The Business Development Executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas, Engineering, and Procurement sectors.
  • The ideal candidate must be highly experienced in commercial tendering, bidding processes, proposal development, client relationship management, and market expansion strategies.
  • This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge, excellent commercial acumen, and a proven track record of winning high-value contracts’

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Expansion:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Oil & Gas, EPC, and engineering services markets.
  • Conduct market research to analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and potential revenue streams.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies to expand the company’s footprint within relevant sectors.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, ensuring consistent lead generation and conversion.
  • Drive end-to-end business development processes—from prospecting to closing deals.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers in OEMs, and major oil & gas clients.
  • Conduct client visits, presentations, and business meetings to understand needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Maintain high-level client satisfaction and promptly resolve issues impacting customer experience.
  • Act as the primary business liaison for strategic accounts.

Tendering & Bidding (Commercial & Technical):

  • Lead the preparation, submission, and management of RFQs and commercial proposals.
  • Analyze tender documents, technical requirements, commercial conditions, and scope of work to prepare compliant and competitive bids.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Finance teams to gather accurate pricing, costing, and technical inputs for tender preparation.
  • Prepare bid strategy, pricing structure, compliance matrices, commercial clarifications, and risk analysis.
  • Ensure all bids meet client requirements, local content policies, and industry regulations.
  • Maintain an updated tender tracker and manage deadlines for multiple simultaneous bids.

Strategic Partnerships & Vendor Engagement:

  • Identify and onboard OEMs, technical partners, subcontractors, and suppliers relevant to project execution.
  • Manage partnership agreements, NDAs, and prequalification packages, and strategic alliances.
  • Maintain updated vendor registrations with major oil & gas companies.

Revenue & Performance Management:

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
  • Provide accurate weekly sales forecasts and pipeline reports.
  • Track KPI performance and recommend improvements for revenue growth and customer acquisition.
  • Support contract negotiation, commercial reviews, and final deal closure.

Documentation, Reporting & Compliance:

  • Prepare professional commercial documents, capability statements, and corporate profiles. Maintain complete documentation for all BD activities, pipelines, bids, and client interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with local content regulations (NOGICD Act), HSE requirements, and internal policies.
  • Support the development of marketing materials for client engagement and bids.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years experience in Business Development in the Oil & Gas / Engineering sector.
  • Proven experience in Tendering, Bidding, and Commercial Proposal Development is mandatory.
  • Experience in procurement, technical sales, and OEM/vendor engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM tools, and tendering portals (NIPEX, Ariba).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills. High negotiation and persuasion ability.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking ability.

Salary
N500,000 – N600,000 monthly.
