Business Analyst
Job Summary
- The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business processes, gathering and documenting requirements, and creating comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) from scratch to support systems and operations. The jobholder will collaborate across departments to identify gaps between business needs and existing systems, develop functional specifications, and ensure solutions align with organizational objectives. The Business Analyst will also support user acceptance testing and system implementation activities to deliver successful business outcomes.
Key Accountabilities
- Business Process Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of current business processes and workflows to identify improvement opportunities and optimize operational efficiency.
- Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Facilitate interviews and workshops with stakeholders to capture business needs, develop BRDs and functional specifications, and translate requirements into actionable solutions.
- Solution Design & Gap Analysis: Analyze gaps between current systems and business requirements, working closely with technical teams to design solutions that meet functional and operational needs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to ensure alignment, clarity, and shared understanding of business requirements and priorities.
- Testing & Implementation Support: Assist with user acceptance testing, validate that system enhancements meet requirements, and support smooth implementation of new systems or processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose recommendations for process optimization and automation to enhance productivity and business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, with proven expertise in creating BRDs from scratch
- Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
- Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in process modelling tools such as Visio or Lucidchart
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Detail-oriented with excellent writing and presentation skills
