Job Summary

  • The Assistant Chef will support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, food preparation, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and food quality.
  • The role requires commitment, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently during long hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in food preparation and cooking.
  • Prepare ingredients (cutting, chopping, marinating) as instructed.
  • Ensure meals are prepared according to set standards and recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
  • Properly store food items and manage kitchen supplies.
  • Assist with plating and timely food service.
  • Follow health and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum SSCE (OND or catering school certification is an advantage).
  • 1–2 years of working experience as an assistant chef.
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work long hours
  • Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player with good communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Shift-based schedule
  • Exposure to heat and kitchen equipment
  • Working Hours: 8:00am – 3:00am
  • Schedule: One day on, one day off
  • Total Working Days: Approximately 14–15 days per month.
