Administrative Officer
Job Description
- The Administrative Officer provides high-level support for the efficient and effective operations of an organization.
- They handle office management tasks, coordinate administrative processes, and support various departments with documentation, scheduling, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day office operations, including supplies, documentation, and facility maintenance.
- Organize and schedule meetings, appointments, and events.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and files.
- Supervise and support junior administrative staff or office assistants.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers for office supplies and maintenance.
- Coordinate communication between departments and external stakeholders.
- Handle correspondence, including letters, emails, memos, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with office policies, processes, and government regulations.
- Maintain and update personnel and administrative databases and filing systems.
- Assist with budget planning, expense tracking, and procurement documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
-
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.A.) in Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, Social Sciences, or related fields from a recognized institution.
Experience:
- At least 2 – 3 years of relevant experience in administrative or office management roles.
- Experience working in a structured organization, public service, or NGO is an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Nigerian civil service or administrative procedures is beneficial.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
