Accounts Officer

Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile daily sales from POS and cash registers across outlets.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, invoices, and receipts into accounting software.
  • Monitor and reconcile cash, bank, and petty cash balances.
  • Track and process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and utility bills.
  • Support monthly stock count and reconcile inventory variances with the store and kitchen teams.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial summaries for management.
  • Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and expense monitoring.
  • Ensure timely remittance of statutory deductions (e.g., VAT, PAYE, pension).
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
  • Maintain proper filing and safeguarding of financial records.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 – 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a Quick Service Restaurant or retail environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
