Accounts Intern
Job Objective
- To support the Finance and Accounts Department in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with daily accounting tasks, and ensuring compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
- The role offers hands-on experience in financial reporting, bookkeeping, and internal control processes in a structured and professional environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and maintaining accounting records, ledgers, and financial reports.
- Support in posting journal entries, expense tracking, and bank reconciliations.
- Help with processing invoices, receipts, and vendor payments under supervision.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of all financial transactions.
- Assist with petty cash management and reporting.
- Support periodic stock and cash counts across outlets when required.
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports and reconciliations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
- Perform any other accounting or administrative tasks as assigned by the Accountant or Finance Manager.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timeliness and accuracy of financial data entry.
- Proper documentation and filing of all accounting records.
- Level of compliance with company accounting procedures.
- Prompt support during financial audits and reconciliations.
Minimum Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) in Accounting or Finance from a recognized institution.
- Must have completed NYSC.
Required Competencies & Skills
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial record-keeping.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and numerical ability.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under supervision.
- Integrity, honesty, and commitment to learning.
Other Requirements:
- Gender: Male (for role balance and outlet support assignments).
- Residence: Must reside within Lagos Island or its immediate environment.
- Must be well-organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a structured business environment.
