About the job:
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting our strategic financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and examine financial records, reports, and statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ledgers.
- Process payroll and statutory deductions (e.g., tax, pension).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Monitor budget implementation and expenditure control.
- Ensure timely remittance of taxes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain an up-to-date asset register and depreciation schedule.
- Provide financial insights to aid decision-making and strategy.
- Support annual audits and liaise with auditors.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA (an added advantage).
- Minimum of 2 years proven work experience as an Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho, or Tally).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Desirable Attributes:
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Results-oriented and proactive in solving financial issues.
