Account Manager

Job Description

  • The Account Manager is responsible for managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders.
  • This role requires financial planning, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze Management Reports and Management Accounts for strategic decision-making.
  • Process receipts, expense reports, and routine banking transactions.
  • Conduct financial audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.

Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:

  • Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and payments, including FIRS, pension contributions, and WHT deductions.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

Cash Flow & Budget Management:

  • Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
  • Review budgets and expenditures with the CEO and provide monthly financial reports.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting monthly project expenditure forecasts and cash requests to the Management.

Vendor & Inventory Management:

  • Supervise and manage inventory procurement processes.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, service providers, and external stakeholders.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration:

  • Participate in financial planning and analysis to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with company strategies.
  • Balance the general ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries.

Requirements

  • HND or B.Sc Degree in Accounting finance or related field
  • Should have ACA, ICAN or any related professional certification
  • 4+ years of experience in management or consultancy
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • The ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
  • Outstanding negotiating skills
  • Solid history of data-driven strategic development
  • Confidential and ability to handle information discretion-ally
  • Significant experience in the finance and marketing fields
  • Experience building a startup, or being part of a startup creation process
  • Assist in preparing and submitting monthly project expenditure forecasts and cash requests to the Management.
