Assurance Audit Supervisor

Job Summary:

  • The Assurance Audit Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing audit engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality audit services to clients. This role involves supervising audit teams, reviewing work papers, and providing guidance to junior staff while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit Planning and Execution:

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through to completion.
  • Develop audit plans and risk assessments based on client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that audits are conducted in accordance with established standards and methodologies.

Team Supervision:

  • Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Review work papers and ensure that all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business and industry.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure compliance with internal quality control standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of audit methodologies and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and management.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in auditing and assurance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the audit function.
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and programs for staff development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in audit and assurance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
  • Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
