Your responsibilities…Underwriting and risk management

• You will oversee the underwriting process, ensuring compliance with risk management guidelines and company policies.
• You will lead the technical team in risk assessment and pricing, optimizing portfolio performance and profitability.
• You will analyze risk trends, refining underwriting strategies to improve business outcomes.

Product development

• You will develop and refine insurance products to meet market demand and regulatory requirements.
• You will assess product performance post-launch, making adjustments to enhance customer satisfaction and profitability.

Claims management

• You will monitor and enhance claims processes, ensuring efficient settlements while minimizing exposure.
• You will implement strategies to reduce claims leakage and improve overall claims-handling efficiency.

Strategy and business growth

• You will develop and execute technical strategies that align with business objectives and drive growth.
• You will collaborate with leadership to identify market opportunities and expand technical capabilities.

Regulatory compliance and governance

• You will ensure compliance with industry regulations, maintaining strong relationships with regulatory bodies.
• You will oversee technical audits to ensure adherence to internal and external insurance policies.

Reinsurance management

• You will manage relationships with reinsurers, negotiating agreements that optimize coverage and cost efficiency.
• You will implement risk-mitigation strategies through effective reinsurance planning.

Collaboration and stakeholder management

• You will work closely with sales, marketing, and finance to align technical operations with business goals.
• You will provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.

Team leadership and development

Reporting and analysis

To be considered, you should have…

• A bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, or a related field (a master’s degree or CIIN certification is a plus).
• 8+ years of experience in the insurance industry, with at least 3 years in a senior technical role.
• Extensive expertise in underwriting, claims management, and risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance requirements.
• Leadership experience in managing technical teams and driving business success.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, using data to guide technical strategy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
