Job Summary
- The Import Business Development Lead will be responsible for driving growth of the company’s import logistics services by acquiring and onboarding new business clients. The role focuses on identifying importers, building strong partnerships, and achieving a minimum of 50 new business sign-ups month-on-month while ensuring smooth onboarding and handover to operations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Acquisition (Import Segment)
- Acquire and onboard a minimum of 50 new import businesses monthly.
- Identify and target importers, distributors, manufacturers, retailers, and SMEs involved in international trade.
- Develop and execute acquisition strategies to grow import volumes across air, sea, and land freight.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline using CRM or internal tracking tools.
- Convert leads into active import customers through effective pitching and negotiations.
- Client Onboarding & Relationship Management
- Lead onboarding of new import clients and ensure accurate documentation.
- Educate clients on import processes, pricing, timelines, and compliance requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact during onboarding and first transactions.
- Ensure smooth handover of clients to operations or account management teams.
Market Development & Partnerships
- Identify new trade lanes, origin countries, and supplier partnerships.
- Build relationships with overseas agents, freight partners, and customs brokers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the import space.
Collaboration & Internal Coordination
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Provide timely feedback from clients to improve import processes and service quality.
- Support resolution of escalated client issues related to imports.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track and report weekly and monthly acquisition performance.
- Monitor conversion rates, import volumes, and revenue contribution.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve acquisition efficiency
- You will directly report to Business Acquisition Manager
- Performance will be reviewed week on week.
