Finance Officer

Job Summary

  • The Finance Officer will oversee day-to-day financial transactions, maintain accurate accounting records, and support financial planning activities within a CNG operations environment.
  • The role requires strong familiarity with financial systems, with experience in ERP platforms and Tally software as an added advantage. Candidates should be detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key Responsibilitie
Financial Accounting & Reporting:

  • Maintain up-to-date financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations using ERP/Tally.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports for management.
  • Track revenue from CNG sales, station transactions, customer accounts, and operational expenses.
  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting for CNG operations and projects.
  • Conduct timely bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Process supplier invoices, customer payments, and staff expense requests.
  • Ensure accurate billing for CNG customers and proper reconciliation of meters, POS, and cash sales.
  • Follow up on outstanding receivables and ensure timely settlements.
  • Maintain documentation for all payables and receivables.

Cost & Inventory Support (CNG Operations):

  • Monitor and track CNG-related costs (compression, logistics, maintenance, utilities).
  • Assist in verifying station inventories, meter readings, and daily sales summaries.
  • Work closely with operations to reconcile product movement and usage.

Compliance & Internal Controls:

  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Support internal/external audit processes with accurate documentation.
  • Implement strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and reduce financial risks.

ERP & Tally Functions:

  • Post transactions, generate reports, and manage financial data through ERP software.
  • Utilize Tally for bookkeeping, reconciliation, and basic accounting tasks (advantage).
  • Provide input on improving financial workflows through digital tools.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years relevant experience, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or industrial operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems; working knowledge of Tally is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must reside in or around Arepo, Ogun State.

Job Summary

  • To ensure smooth and efficient operation of CNG Compressors, Dispensers, and associated equipment across multiple CNG Stations.
  • The candidate will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, ensure high equipment uptime, and lead a team of technicians to achieve operational excellence and compliance with safety and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of CNG Compressors, Dispensers, Storage Cascades, and allied systems.
  • Monitor station performance, ensure optimal gas throughput, and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain records of compressor run hours, pressure trends, and equipment performance.

Maintenance Management:

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for Compressors, Dispensers, and related systems.
  • Supervise corrective maintenance and ensure timely restoration of equipment in case of breakdowns.
  • Coordinate with OEMs for technical support and spare parts.
  • Maintain inventory of critical spares and consumables.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure strict adherence to DPR and other regulatory norms.
  • Conduct periodic safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain documentation of Hydrotesting, Calibration, and statutory inspections.

Team Management:

  • Lead and train a team of technicians/operators for efficient operations.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with maintenance protocols.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on compressor uptime, maintenance activities, and fuel sales.
  • Maintain service records, maintenance logs, and failure analysis reports.
  • Support management in budgeting for maintenance expenses and CAPEX planning.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience: 4–12 years in CNG Industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role handling operations and maintenance of CNG Compressors and Dispensers.
  • Preferred: Experience in working with reputed CNG OEMs or CGD companies.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of CNG Compressors (Reciprocating/Screw Type) and Dispenser systems.
  • Sound understanding of Pneumatic, Hydraulic, and Electrical control systems.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Statutory Compliance and other safety standards applicable to CNG operations.
