Description

  • The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day finance operations, maintain accurate financial records, analyse financial performance, evaluate capital allocation decisions, and support strategic planning.
  • This individual will ensure the company’s financial health, compliance, and optimisation of resources while providing clear insights to leadership.
  • This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills, discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Accounting:

  • Maintain and manage accurate and up-to-date company financial records.
  • Oversee bookkeeping, general ledger entries, and monthly/quarterly/year-end closing.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
  • Implement internal controls and improve financial processes for efficiency and accuracy.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Develop variance analysis reports and highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Produce management reports for executive reviews and board-level discussions.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Track budget performance and provide insights on cost control and optimisation.
  • Build financial models to support planning and resource allocation.

Capital Allocation & Investment Analysis:

  • Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and ROI, NPV, and payback analysis.
  • Monitor existing investments and capital projects for performance and value creation.
  • Provide recommendations on cost-saving opportunities and financial efficiency.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

  • Manage cash flow planning and ensure funds availability for operational needs.
  • Oversee payables, receivables, and banking relationships.
  • Implement treasury controls and optimise working capital cycles.

Compliance & Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulatory requirements, and financial standards.
  • Oversee tax filings, payments, and liaise with tax consultants as needed.
  • Assist with internal and external audits; prepare required documentation.

Strategic Support:

  • Provide financial insights to support business strategy and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct industry and competitor financial benchmarking.
  • Partner with leadership on funding strategies, partnerships, and new business assessments.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CFA Level II+) strongly preferred.
  • 6-8+ years of relevant finance experience, ideally in oil & gas services, consulting, or professional services.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), corporate finance, and financial modelling.
  • Proven experience preparing financial statements and conducting financial analysis.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; familiarity with accounting software.

Salary
N800,000 – N900,000 monthly (net).
