Salon Manager

Key Reponsibilities

  • Controlling the tidiness of the premises
  • Enforcing hygiene practices across all workstations
  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies
  • Keeping records of cash inflows and outflows
  • Taking care of customer records
  • Overseeing the scheduling of appointments
  • Supervising communication with clients
  • Running marketing activities, including social media fan pages
  • Looking after the loyalty program
  • Checking the availability of resources (equipment and rooms)
  • Creating reports regarding salon operations

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualification:

  • OND/HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Cosmetology, or a related field.
  • Relevant salon management or supervisory training is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a salon, spa, or beauty business (at least 2 years in a leadership role).
  • Proven record of managing salon operations, team coordination, and meeting sales or performance targets.

Technical & Operational Skills

Salon Operations Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of daily salon workflow, appointment systems, inventory management, and hygiene standards.

Hair & Beauty Service Familiarity:

  • Good knowledge of haircare, beauty, and salon services — able to guide clients and staff confidently.

Product Knowledge:

  • Familiar with haircare products, retail upselling, and how to promote the salon’s product line.

Sales & Marketing:

Capable of creating and executing promotions, loyalty programs, and digital marketing campaigns.

Financial Management:

  • Skilled in preparing sales reports, managing petty cash, reconciling daily income, and reducing wastage.

Leadership & Interpersonal Skills

Staff Supervision:

  • Ability to train, supervise, and motivate salon staff for excellence in service delivery.

Customer Relations:

  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to handle high-end clients professionally and resolve complaints promptly.

Communication Skills:

  • Fluent in English; excellent verbal and written communication for client and staff interactions.

Team Building:

  • Promotes a cooperative, drama-free, and respectful work environment.

Personal Qualities

 Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented:

  • Ensures the salon remains clean, elegant, and aligned with brand standards.

Availability

Flexibility:

  • Willing to work weekends, holidays, and during peak hours as required.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
