Job Summary

  • As the Design Intern, you will support senior designers across multiple creative and design projects.
  • You will assist with product design, interior layout concepts, visual content creation, photo editing, and preparing design materials for both print and digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior designers with product design and interior layout projects.
  • Create visual content and design assets for digital and print use.
  • Support in photo editing, file/asset management, and document preparation.
  • Participate in brainstorming and idea development for creative concepts.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all creative outputs.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a design-related degree program (Interior Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, Industrial/Product Design, etc.).
  • Portfolio submission required.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, V-Ray, Blender, or Revit.
  • Strong understanding of design principles (typography, layout, color theory).
  • Ability to produce both hand-drawn and digital designs.

Salary
N80,00 – N100,000 Monthly

Method of Application

Role Summary

  • The ideal candidate will support engineers, designers, and production teams by assisting with equipment maintenance, product development, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
  • This role requires strong organizational skills, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth technical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the engineering and production teams, including troubleshooting equipment issues and assisting with machinery setup and installation.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on production equipment, tools, and machinery (including generators).
  • Create, update, and organize technical documentation such as product specifications, assembly guides, and equipment manuals.
  • Assist in product quality assurance by supporting quality control checks, identifying defects, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production, design, sales, and other departments to ensure technical requirements are met for product development and manufacturing.
  • Support new product development activities, including prototype building, material testing, and functionality evaluations.
  • Manage technical files, perform data entry, and carry out administrative duties to support technical and operational workflows.
  • Train and guide new hires, interns, and team members on equipment use, processes, and safety procedures.
  • Research industry trends, materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other technical or operational duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a technical support, production support, or engineering assistant role, preferably in furniture, construction, manufacturing, or design industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Revit, or similar) is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent communication skills for documentation, reporting, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage varied responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to support tasks that involve equipment handling, prototype build-up, or material movement.
  • Portfolio Submission: Applicants must submit a portfolio showcasing creativity and technical capability (e.g., product sample, completed project, prototype, or concept work).
