Position Overview:
- The Managing Director (MD) will lead the operations, strategic direction, and growth of the midstream business centered on the development of a small-scale LNG Project. The MD will work closely with senior leadership, customers, and regulatory bodies to ensure operational excellence, safety compliance, and sustainable growth while optimizing financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the company’s strategic vision, ensuring alignment with the overall business goals and objectives.
- Provide leadership in the development of long-term business plans, capital investments, and expansion projects within the midstream sector.
- Drive the company’s market position and competitive advantage by identifying new business opportunities and managing existing client relationships.
Financial Management:
- Manage the company’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Optimize capital expenditures, manage cost controls, and maximize revenue streams while ensuring profitability and growth.
- Provide timely and accurate financial analysis and reporting to the Board of Directors.
Risk Management and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, regional, and international regulatory standards governing midstream oil and gas operations, including environmental regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
- Develop and maintain risk management strategies to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks.
- Lead the company’s safety culture by enforcing and promoting a zero-incident safety program.
Stakeholder Management:
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, government agencies, regulators, and joint venture partners.
- Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and with governmental bodies.
- Ensure effective communication between internal departments, clients, and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, inspire, and manage the senior leadership team and other key personnel within the company.
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture that emphasizes high performance, accountability, and employee development.
- Oversee talent recruitment, training, and succession planning for all operational and executive roles.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, and Production), Financing, Business Administration, or a related field. Upper Second class or higher.
- An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15-20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on midstream operations (gas processing, storage, transportation).
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership or executive role, preferably as a Managing Director, VP, or General Manager within the oil and gas midstream sector.
- Proven track record of managing large, complex operations and delivering financial and operational results.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of midstream operations, including marketing, commercial agreements, transportation, storage, logistics, and infrastructure management.
- A good gas processing technical (engineering/design) and project management knowledge will be an added advantage.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, health and safety standards, and environmental compliance within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience in economic and financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and work effectively with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and joint venture partners.
- Ability to work in a small company through early phase development.

Position Summary:
- We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Analyst / Finance Manager to lead financial strategy and analysis for our Gas Commercialisation and LNG sales portfolio. This role is pivotal in supporting project finance, capital raising, commercial structuring, and investment decision-making across a diverse set of gas infrastructure and LNG marketing initiatives.
- The ideal candidate will bring at least 15 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, with a strong track record in project finance, financial modelling, commercial advisory, and fund sourcing, particularly in the Nigerian gas and LNG sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop robust financial models and investment appraisals for gas infrastructure and LNG projects.
- Conduct ROI assessments, scenario planning, and capital budgeting for new and existing initiatives.
Project Finance & Fund Sourcing
- Lead efforts to raise capital from banks, DFIs, private equity, and strategic investors.
- Prepare investor-grade documentation and support due diligence processes.
Gas Commercialisation & Advisory
- Advise on pricing models, offtake agreements, and contract structuring for domestic and export LNG sales.
- Support negotiation of sales agreements with industrial, commercial, and international buyers.
Forecasting & Long-Term Projections
- Build dynamic financial models and performance forecasts for LNG production, pricing, and sales.
- Prepare board-level reports and strategic insights on gas marketing initiatives.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure all financial and commercial strategies align with Nigeria’s regulatory framework (NMDPRA, FIRS, GACN, etc.).
- Interpret fiscal policies and ensure compliance in investment planning and reporting.
Risk Assessment & Due Diligence
- Identify and evaluate financial risks, including pricing volatility and market exposure.
- Participate in due diligence for M&A, JV, or greenfield opportunities.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Track key financial and operational KPIs across LNG and gas projects.
- Present actionable financial insights to internal stakeholders, investors, and external partners.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA, CFA, ACA/FCA, ACCA/FCCA preferred).
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas, with at least 10 years in gas commercialisation and project finance.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, investor engagement, and LNG sales advisory.
- Advanced financial modelling and valuation skills (Excel proficiency essential).
- In-depth understanding of Nigeria’s gas value chain, pricing regimes, and fiscal regulations.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
