About Program
- The West African Centre for Public Health and Development (WACPHD) is conducting a supply-side baseline assessment of Family Planning (FP) and Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services in Kano and Kaduna States.
- The assessment will provide critical insights into service availability, quality, and readiness across public, private, and community-based health facilities.
- It will include a community-level component, targeting community health workers (CHWs), community pharmacies, and patent and proprietary medicine vendors (PPMVs) to understand service delivery capacity, referral linkages, and integration of FP/MNCH services.
- To support field implementation, WACPHD seeks qualified and experienced individuals to serve as Enumerators.
Scope of Work
- Enumerators will be responsible for data collection, ensuring adherence to field protocols, and maintaining data quality and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interviews and community assessments in line with the approved survey instruments.
- Facilitate engagement with CHWs, community pharmacies, and PPMVs.
- Obtain informed consent and ensure respondent confidentiality.
- Accurately record responses using electronic data collection devices (SurveyCTO).
- Ensure compliance with survey protocols, ethical procedures, and data security standards.
- Adhere to field schedules and assigned targets.
- Report daily progress and challenges to the state coordinator.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Demography, or related fields (Master’s Degree or MPH is an advantage) with 1 – 2 years of experience of field data collection in health research OR other Bachelor ‘s Degree courses with 3 – 4 years of experience of field data collection in health research.
- Familiarity with FP/MNCH services, especially at the primary healthcare and community levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and local languages (Hausa preferred).
- Experience using Android-based data collection tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned LGAs.
