Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive sales strategies to achieve short-term and long-term revenue goals
- Identify and prioritize high-value business opportunities across target industries and sectors
- Set aggressive but attainable targets for the sales team and provide coaching and motivation to exceed them
Lead Generation & Business Expansion
- Drive lead generation efforts through direct outreach, partnerships, referrals, and inbound channels
- Explore upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize customer lifetime value
- Monitor onboarding of new customers to ensure a seamless transition and early satisfaction
Client Relationship Management
- Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring retention and renewal
- Engage directly with key clients to understand their evolving needs, challenges, and feedback
- Lead high-level negotiations and finalize commercial agreements that reflect customer value and business goals
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Analyze industry trends, market shifts, and competitive dynamics to inform sales strategy and positioning
- Develop pricing structures, product messaging, and promotional tactics that reflect market demand
- Use data-driven insights to refine outreach and improve conversion performance
Sales Performance & Reporting
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team
- Track performance metrics, forecast sales pipelines, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
- Regularly review team outcomes and adjust plans to optimize productivity and results
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with marketing to align campaigns with sales goals and create powerful lead nurturing strategies
- Liaise with customer success teams to ensure quality onboarding and after-sales support
- Partner with legal and finance to finalize contracts and drive risk-free revenue
- Interface with technical teams to provide feedback on product improvements based on client input
Team Management
- Lead and grow the sales team through recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management
- Promote a results-oriented and customer-centric culture
- Organize weekly briefings and monthly reviews to align execution with strategy
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related field, preferably in the fintech or payments industry.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding customer bases.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian fintech industry, including market trends, competitors, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent sales, business development, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
- Fluency in English; additional languages spoken in Nigeria an asset.
