Project Assistant
Job Description
- Seefar is seeking a skilled Project Assistant (PA) with complete fluency in English and any of the major local languages in Nigeria, for 12 months to support the implementation of a mutually beneficial and sustainable partnership between Nigeria and Ireland/Germany to foster Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) talent development and mobility. The PA will have thematic knowledge, and a strong interest in labour migration, recruitment, education and livelihoods; enjoy working in a high performing team from multiple countries; and focus on getting results. The role requires someone who resides in Abuja, Nigeria with at least 3 years professional experience in implementing projects, intrinsically motivated, worldly, interested in hard challenges and is highly flexible and efficient.
- The Project Assistant will support the Nigeria Manager in Abuja in coordinating and managing project activities in Nigeria. The role involves administrative support, stakeholder engagement, research, and logistical coordination to ensure smooth implementation of project activities. A significant focus of the role will be working closely with Talent Management Agencies, who are the private sector service providers on the supply side of the project, to facilitate effective talent identification, preparation, and placement for workforce integration.
This is a full time position, with an estimated start date of 1st August , 2025. The fee range for this position is EUR 1,000 to EUR 1,500
Responsibilities
Approximately 90% of your time and attention:
Administrative & Logistical Support
- Assist in scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes for project-related engagements.
- Support the organization of events, workshops, and stakeholder meetings in Nigeria.
- Maintain project records, documents, and databases for efficient project management.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between project teams in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
- Coordinate project beneficiary documentation, bearing data protection measures in mind
Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaise with key stakeholders including government agencies, employers, and private sector partners.
- Work closely with Talent Management Agencies to align recruitment and preparation processes with project goals.
- Support engagement with partner organizations and relevant migration and labour market entities in Nigeria.
- Assist in drafting communication materials, reports, and updates for stakeholders.
Reporting
- Compile reports, briefing notes, and presentations for internal and external use.
- Monitor project progress against specific targets and provide periodic updates to the Nigerian Manager.
Compliance & Coordination
- Assist in ensuring compliance with migration regulations and project guidelines.
- Support visa and work permit processes for project beneficiaries.
- Coordinate with legal and regulatory bodies as necessary.

An Excellent Candidate
To excel in this role, you will have the following experience and capacities:
- A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields, social sciences, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in project administration, migration programmes, with stakeholder engagement in Nigeria and research capability.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Nigerian languages is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and project management tools.
- Experience working with private sector recruitment or talent management agencies is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely with minimal supervision.
- Resides in Abuja, Nigeria
