The Opportunity:

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic MD/CEO to lead SavingsBox Multipurpose Cooperative Society into its next phase of growth and impact. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a deep understanding of financial services, cooperative principles, digital transformation, and the Nigerian financial landscape. You will be responsible for driving our strategic vision, ensuring operational excellence, expanding our member base, and fostering a culture of innovation and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall strategic leadership and direction, ensuring alignment with the Cooperative\’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Drive the cooperative\’s growth trajectory in membership, savings deposits, investment funds, and loan portfolio.
  • Oversee all operational aspects, ensuring efficiency, compliance with regulatory requirements (including CBN and cooperative laws), and risk management.
  • Develop and implement innovative financial products and services tailored to member needs.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with members, regulators, partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team and staff.
  • Ensure the financial health and sustainability of the cooperative, optimizing revenue generation through our lending and investment activities.
  • Represent SavingsBox Cooperative externally, enhancing its reputation and brand presence.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in the financial services sector, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/executive role.
  • Proven track record in driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence in a financial institution. Experience with cooperatives is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of digital financial services, lending, savings, and investment products.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian financial regulatory environment (CBN etc.).
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, business acumen, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor\’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or relevant professional certification (e.g., CFA, ICAN, MCIB ACIB ) is highly preferred.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Operations to lead and optimize our daily functions. This critical role is responsible for ensuring the seamless, efficient, and compliant delivery of all our financial services. You will drive operational excellence, implement robust processes, and leverage technology to enhance our service delivery and support our rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day operational activities, including member onboarding, savings and investment processing, loan disbursement, collections, and customer support.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize operational policies, procedures, and workflows to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance member experience.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements (CBN, Cooperative laws, data privacy, etc.) and internal operational policies.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of technology solutions to automate processes, improve data management, and enhance operational security.
  • Manage operational risk effectively, developing strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential threats.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and member-centricity.
  • Collaborate closely with all other departments (Finance, Investments, Loans, Relationship Management) to ensure integrated and consistent service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is a strong advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in operations management within the financial services or fintech sector, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in optimizing operational efficiency, implementing new processes, and managing large teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance within the Nigerian financial sector.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experiencing on Bankone software usage will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in operational management software, and CRM systems.
