Duties & Responsibilities

• Cutting, cleaning, and aligning metal parts before welding.
• Welding and joining metals as needed by use of welding processes MIG, TIG, arc, gas welding, etc.) to join metal parts.
• Setting up, adjusting, and maintaining welding machines and tools.
• Checking quality, strength, and accuracy of welds to meet standards.
• Fixing damaged metal parts or creating new structures.
• Wearing protective gear (PPE) and ensuring safe welding practices.
• Smoothing welded joints and preparing surfaces for painting or further processing.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings
• Report in writing discrepancies in condition that will require corrective, predictive or planned maintenance actions.
• Maintain record of daily and monthly welding consumables consumption to ensure that it adheres to budget.

Qualification And Requirements

• KCSE- Kenya certificate of secondary education, GTT I in Welding and Fabrication or Technical Certificate /Diploma/Higher Diploma –Welding
• 2-3 years’ Proven experience as a Welder.
• Equipment Management- Set up, operate and maintain welding equipment and tools.
• Safety Compliances- Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safety working environment.
