The Credit Analyst is a full-time role responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of individuals, businesses, and institutions applying for financial products such as loans and credit facilities. The selected candidate will play a critical role in analysing financial statements, evaluating risk factors, and preparing detailed credit reports to support sound lending decisions.

This position contributes to the Bank’s overall credit risk management strategy by working closely with relationship managers and risk teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse financial statements, cash flows, and business performance to evaluate credit risk and recommend appropriate lending decisions
  • Prepare comprehensive credit proposals, risk assessments, and supporting documentation for loan approvals
  • Conduct industry and market research to support credit evaluations and risk assessments
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios for early warning signs and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to understand client needs and structure tailored credit solutions
  • Ensure credit documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards
  • Participate in credit committee meetings and present findings and recommendations as required
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations, credit policies, and market trends
  • Support audit and regulatory reviews by providing required documentation and information
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex credit scenarios

  • Familiarity with credit scoring models, risk rating systems, and banking regulations is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Strategise and implement asset deployment in line with the annual business plan, including the creation of new portfolios and ensuring they remain uninfected and healthy through strict monitoring and control
  • Market the Bank’s products to grow asset base and cross-sell opportunities, ensuring all portfolio additions are of high quality
  • Manage the full credit lifecycle, including processing credit proposals and e-memos, conducting financial analysis in line with the Bank’s Credit Policy, handling renewals, and negotiating terms within approved parameters
  • Oversee all aspects of customer portfolios, including funded and non-funded facilities, ensuring timely recovery of mark-up and instalments, and resolving customer complaints within prescribed turnaround times
  • Conduct regular visits to inspect mortgaged or hypothecated assets, and ensure the Bank’s interests are protected through proper documentation and adherence to legal and approval requirements
  • Ensure timely collection of all required customer documents, such as stock reports, insurance certificates, and annual financials
  • Maintain liaison with Credit, CAD, and Risk departments to coordinate facility-related matters
  • Ensure all operations and transactions comply with internal policies, the Operations Manual, and regulatory guidelines
  • Support audits and regulatory reviews by providing necessary documents, information, and logistical support
  • Prepare accurate, timely, and well-analysed credit presentations and approvals.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and banking software
