Salary Basic Salary Scaie: Ksh 27,900-36,680
House Allowance: Ksh 3,850-4,500
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 4,000 a
Leave Allowance: As provided in the Civil Service:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement learning activities that promote cognitive, physical, emotional, and socal development of children aged 3-6 years;
  • Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials,
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of learners to monitor progress and identify areas of improvement;
  • Integrate play~based learning and creative arts into daily lessons;
  • Maintain a conducive leasing environment through proper classroom arrangement and resource management;
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating classroom environment tor children,
  • Manage classroom behavior and establish positive discipline practices;
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children under your care;
  • Identify and report any signs of abusc, neglect, or developmental issues:
  • Provide basic first aid and maintain records of any incidents,
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance, performance, and progress.
  • Prepare and subimit reguiar reports on chiia development, challenges, and recommendations to school management and parenis;
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding the child’s progress and any concerns;
  • Organize and participate in parent-teacher meetings, open days, and other scnooi events;
  • Engage with the local community to promote early childhood education; and
  • Participate in community programs and events that enhance the educational experience of children.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

For appointment to this grade a candidate must: –

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean Grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  • Have Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education;
  • Have Basic Training in Competence Based Curriculum (CBC/ CBE);
  • Have Registration with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC);
  • Have Proficiency in computer applications;
  • Have fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.
  • Note that an Upgraded Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (UDETCE) and
  • Special Needs Education will be an added advantage.

Duties and responsibilities

For ALL the Assistant Vocational and Technical Trainer Ili, the duties and responsibilities for this cadre will entail: –

  • Deliver specialized training in accordance with approved curricula and established standards of instruction;
  • Develop and prepare comprehensive teaching and learning materials, including scheme: of work, lesson plans, and instructionai aids;
  • Design, administer, and evaluate examinations and assignments to assess trainees’ knowledge, skills, and competencies;
  • Undertake research and innovation activities under the guidance and mentorship ot a senor traimer to enhance instructional content and methodology; and
  • Supervise trainees in the execution of projects, industrial attachments, and practical work io ensure the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts.

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen;
  • Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean Grade D (Plain) or its equivalent qualification trom a recogiiized Institution,
  • Have a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: – Technical Education (Building Technology/Water Technology (Plumbing); Building Technology/Water Technology (Plumbing); Education/Technical Education: Building Technology/Water ‘Technology (Plumbing} or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
  • Have Registration with Technical Vocational Education and Training Auth jority (TVET);
  • Have Training in Competency Based Education and Training (CBET) curriculurn will be an added advantage;
  • Have Proficiency in computer applicatioris;
  • Have fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya.
