Talent Success Associate at Tana

Talent Success Associate

As a Talent Success Associate, you’ll support the growth of early-career talent placed with Tana’s partners by guiding their development, tracking progress, and collaborating across teams. This people-focused role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and passionate about empowering emerging tech and data professionals through structured, empathetic support.

Responsibilities

  • Talent support: Provide ongoing support to early-career talent through regular 1:1s, helping them navigate workplace dynamics, strengthen professional habits, and build confidence in their technical roles.
  • Performance management: Partner with the Talent Success Lead to monitor talent progress and performance. Identify early signs of challenges, support performance improvement plans, and help reinforce both technical and professional competencies through structured coaching and feedback.
  • Talent tracking and insights: Maintain and update our internal talent database to ensure accurate, up-to-date records of performance, engagement, and development. Share regular and ad hoc updates with internal teams to inform decision-making and strengthen client relationships.
  • Technical development planning: Co-develop tailored technical upskilling plans for talent based on their role, skill gaps, and client expectations.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with the Talent Success, Operations and Leadership team to ensure talent support is cohesive, consistent, and aligned with company strategy and priorities.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in talent development, coaching, HR, recruiting, or L&D, ideally within a tech or startup environment
  • Experience supporting early-career or junior professionals, with a focus on performance tracking and feedback
  • Familiarity with technical roles in QA, software engineering, or data—able to engage meaningfully with technical stakeholders and understand role-specific challenges
  • Proficient with organizational and process tools like Notion, Confluence, CRMs, or HRIS/ATS systems, with an eye for process improvement
  • Comfortable managing light project coordination, including timelines, documentation, and follow-ups
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build relationships across teams and create a safe, growth-oriented space for talent
  • Adaptable and proactive, with a growth mindset and a desire to improve talent outcomes through thoughtful, empathetic support
  • Experience working in remote-first, asynchronous teams and coordinating across time zones

Location

This is a hybrid position based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a minimum of 3 days in the office.
