Senior Transmission Network Planning Engineer
Responsibilities
- Plan and Design Transmission, IP and fibre Networks – Microwave, DWDM, SDH,IP and fibre
- Capacity planning
- Technical site surveys for transmission network
- Provide Optical E2E Transmission solutions
- Transmission/IP network optimization
- Ensure economical use of Transmission/IP network resources
- QoS improvement
- CAPEX and OPEX improvement
- Frequency Management
- Ensure Frequency compliance
- Frequency application to the regulator
- Roadmap tracking
- Tracking equipment life cycle and features
- Plan/prepare transmission network technology evolution
- Project Management
- Project coordination with Vendors and internal TKL stakeholders
- Validation of acceptance documents
- Ensure all Transmission/IP project proposals are properly documented and properly signed off.
- Ensure transparent and timely reporting of project status and risks to management team
- Create, maintain and track project plans and schedules
- Plan transition of Transmission/IP projects to operations and maintenance teams
- Vendor management
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification
- Transmission/IP systems database & inventory management
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science University Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical and Electronic engineering
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the planning and design of transmission/IP networks
- Proficient in IP,DWDM and MW technologies
- Conversant with carrier Ethernet technical specifications E-line, E-LAN and E tree
- Proficient in Pathloss
- Link budget analysis for MW and fiber
- Understanding of GSM network architecture
