Senior Operations and Supply Chain Officer
We’re looking to recruit a driven Supply Chain & Operations Senior Officer to take ownership of supply chain planning, execution, and process optimization across procurement, warehousing, and distribution. If you’re a strategic thinker and detail-oriented with a deep passion for supply chain management, procurement and logistics eager to bring structure, insight, and excellence to a fast-paced environment—this role is for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop, continuously update, and implement supply chain and distribution policies, procedures, and systems covering procurement, contract management, inventory control, and supplier performance management in compliance with regulations.
- Build and maintain ethical and strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead the development of the company’s annual procurement plan and budget, in collaboration with user departments.
- Receive, analyze, and evaluate supplier quotations to ensure the company receives value for money.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers and service providers to ensure best value and cost savings.
- Conduct purchase cost analysis against market trends and maintain updated records.
- Manage sourcing and ensure timely delivery of finished goods, raw materials, and services aligned with internal needs.
- Supervise loading, offloading, stocking, and safekeeping of warehouse inventory to prevent loss, damage, or occupational hazards.
- Monitor inventory flow using FIFO methods and conduct regular stock takes; investigate and resolve variances.
- Coordinate timely dispatch and distribution of client orders to meet service-level expectations.
- Oversee compliance with all procurement, warehousing, and distribution procedures by the team.
- Ensure optimal use, accountability, and cost-effective maintenance of dispatch vehicles.
- Motivate, coach, and develop the supply chain team while establishing clear performance standards and conducting regular evaluations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and sales for end-to-end supply chain efficiency.
- Prepare and submit import duty exemption documents (C60) and conduct quarterly bond cancellations (C61) in compliance with statutory regulations.
- Generate and submit timely procurement and inventory reports as required.
- Proactively resolve any procurement, delivery, or inventory-related issues to ensure smooth operations.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
What You Bring:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in a fast-paced or manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or any business-related field.
- Professional Membership: Must be a registered member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) with a valid practicing license; CIPS certification is an added advantage.
