Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Manager
We are seeking to fill the position of Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Manager to manage and drive the procurement department.
Key Objectives of the Role:
- Procurement & Sourcing
- Refine, implement and continually improve procurement policies and strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements – supply chain management.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations. ✓Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Supply Chain Management
- Forecast demand and plan supply needs in collaboration with internal departments.
- Manage inventory levels, stock control, and replenishment strategies.
- Ensure risk management, continuity planning, and sustainability across the supply chain.
- Implement systems for tracking, monitoring, and reporting supply chain performance.
- Logistics & Distribution
- Plan and oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and delivery. Coordinate import and export processes, ensuring compliance with customs and trade regulations.
- Monitor distribution networks to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Optimize logistics costs while ensuring efficiency and reliability.
Experience & Expertise
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong price negotiation and vendor relationship skills.
- Working knowledge of supply chain and inventory management tools.
- Experience working with international vendors, including shipping, importation into and within East African countries
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good knowledge of the key drivers and success factors that drive effective procurement and supply chain management
- Knowledge of solar PV and batteries is a plus
- Computer skills in MS word and Excel
- Must be willing to travel up to at least 50% of the time across East and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS or CPSP preferred (will be an added advantage).
- Proven experience, at least 5+ years of procurement, logistics and supply chain management.
Other Essential skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global team.
- High diligence and attention to detail in designing procedures and documentation. Self-motivation to meet deadlines and perform under pressure.
- Excellent networking skills to engage with customers, business partners, and team members at all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Adherence to the highest professional and ethical standards.
- Strong organizational and teamwork capabilities.
