Power and Utility Sales Leader – Eastern Africa

The key responsibilities of the right candidate will include:

  • Lead in Business Development for Power & Utilities and renewable sector.  This includes the commercial & sales development activities such as market Surveys, support to network, proposals, tender etc.
  • Establish sales strategies to develop business in renewable sector through a deep understanding of the client’s business needs in this market.
  • Development and maintenance of all Energy projects, opportunities & tenders,
  • Full accountability of the sales & Revenue budget output
  • Track key performance indicators, analyze sales data, and provide regular reports on team performance, market trends, and growth opportunities.
  • Operational Management: oversee day-to-day operations of the P&U Business, drive optimization of operational efficiency and productivity, manage resource allocation and budgeting
  • Portfolio Management: Lead new product development and innovation initiatives, identify opportunities for new product/application, drive innovation in service offerings
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and strategic assessments and ensure a good level of satisfaction of the clients of the market
  • Identify, prepare and submit pre-qualification, expression of interest, offers & tenders.  This includes offer and contract review.
  • Manage and grow with key accounts as may be defined by S&M Director and IND Director.
  • Support BV offices with marketing tools such as presentation material, profile, catalogue, reference list, completion/appreciation letters, etc.

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a leadership role within Power and Utilities sector, preferably with good renewable experience.
  • Proven track record in the power sector or related industrial markets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong strategic planning and leadership capabilities
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience dealing with both public sector companies and Private sector companies for tendering, negotiations and finalizations
  • Willingness to travel within the region as per business need.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferable with an MBA in Sales & Marketing Familiar with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
