People and Culture Manager
Our client, SNDBX, is looking to hire a People and Culture Manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic human resource initiatives that align with SNDBX’s mission and strategic pillars. This role ensures a positive, inclusive and high-performing work environment, optimizing HR systems and processes to support business growth and sustainability
Responsibilities
Empower Entrepreneurs to Thrive
- Develop and implement talent strategies that attract and retain top industry experts to provide value to entrepreneurs.
- Facilitate training and development programs for employees and experts to enhance service delivery to entrepreneurs.
- Drive initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the SNDBX team and expert community.
- Establish and maintain a high-performance culture that fosters innovation and collaboration.
Drive Product Innovation and Excellence
- Identify and implement HR best practices that enhance employee engagement and productivity.
- Develop programs that encourage continuous learning and innovation within SNDBX.
- Collaborate with leadership to design career development pathways for employees and experts.
- Oversee the onboarding process to ensure new hires and experts integrate seamlessly into SNDBX.
Optimize Systems and Processes for Operational Efficiency
- Implement and manage HR technology systems to streamline workforce management and HR operations.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, policies, and best practices to mitigate risks.
- Develop and enforce HR policies, procedures, and an employee handbook aligned with organizational goals.
- Conduct workforce planning and analysis to ensure optimal staffing and resource allocation.
Secure Financial Sustainability and Impact
- Develop and manage compensation and benefits structures that align with SNDBX’s financial goals and market benchmarks.
- Implement cost-effective HR initiatives that optimize employee engagement and retention.
- Monitor HR-related expenses and contribute to budget planning and financial forecasting.
- Develop strategic partnerships with learning institutions, recruitment agencies, and service providers to optimize workforce development.
Employee Engagement and Well-Being
- Develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee well-being and work-life balance.
- Lead internal communication strategies to foster an inclusive and transparent workplace culture.
- Organize and oversee employee engagement activities to enhance morale and job satisfaction.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions and engagement surveys to identify areas of improvement.
Performance Management and Leadership Development
- Establish and oversee a structured performance management system to drive accountability and productivity.
- Provide leadership coaching and development programs for managers and team leads.
- Support leaders in fostering a feedback-driven culture through performance reviews and mentorship programs.
- Address and resolve employee relations issues effectively to maintain a healthy work environment.
Required Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification such as CHRP, SHRM, CIPD is an added advantage).
- Proven experience in a senior HR or People & Culture role, preferably within a dynamic, entrepreneurial, or fast-growing organization.
- Deep understanding of Kenyan labor laws, HR best practices, and organizational development strategies.
- Strong ability to design and execute HR strategies that align with business goals and support organizational growth.
- Experience implementing HR technology, HRIS systems, and data-driven HR processes.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and support teams at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management, HR transformations, and organizational-wide culture initiatives.
- Experience developing and managing performance management systems, employee engagement frameworks, and culture-building programs.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly to organizational needs.
