Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Tutorial Fellow, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree from an accredited/ recognized University:
- MBChB or BDS;
- Demonstrable potential for university teaching and or research during the appointment interview and also during the contract period;
- Registered for a relevant Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree or MDS or MMed;
- Evidence of membership or affiliation to the relevant professional body where applicable;
- Proficiency in computer applications;
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance;
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Chairperson of Department a Tutorial Fellow will be expected to:
- Actively pursue their PhD studies and complete within the required time frame
- Assist with Lecturing in area of specialization in accordance with the curriculum up to Bachelor’s level;
- Assist in setting, invigilating and marking examination/assignments;
- Carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior academic member of staff;
- Assist preparing students progress reports; and
- Prepare research articles for publications and/or books.
