Obstetrician Gynaecologist
- Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests to assess and monitor women’s health.
- Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including conducting deliveries and managing complications.
- Diagnose and treat gynaecologic conditions such as fibroids, endometriosis, infections, and menstrual disorders etc
- Conduct obstetric and gynaecologic surgical procedures such as cesarean sections, hysterectomies as needed.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well being in the management of high-risk pregnancies.
- Counsel patients on reproductive health, contraception, and family planning.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all patient interactions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide multidisciplinary care.
- Plan, coordinate and run the obstetrics and gynaecology outpatient clinics ensuring quality, efficiency and adherence to hospital protocols.
- Participate in internal and external health education activities, including community health talks, staff education, and awareness campaigns related to maternal and reproductive health.
- Maintain accurate medical records and document all patient interactions
- Participate in training, mentorship, and continuous professional development.
- Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and relevant medical guidelines.
- Develop/Improve Shalom Hospital clinical policies and Standard Operating Procedures for obstetrics and gynaecology.
- Be aware of Shalom Hospital risk program and report clinical incidents, drug errors and near misses.
- Provide a 24-hour coverage as a second on call to the hospital.
- Visit patients as requested at the request of nursing staff, patients or their relatives.
- Conduct quality improvement, morbidity and mortality meetings, and any other meeting.
- To provide emergency treatment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Involvement in CME’s.
- Be aware of the hospital’s strategic objectives and key performance indicators as stated in the corporate, departmental and individual balanced score card.
