Mid Level Nurse Midwife Officer
We are currently seeking a qualified and dedicated Nurse Midwife Officer to join our maternity team and contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality through high-quality, evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Nurse Midwife Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Providing skilled care during antenatal, labor, delivery, and postnatal periods.
- Monitoring and managing normal and high-risk pregnancies and deliveries.
- Identifying and responding to maternal and neonatal complications, including timely referrals.
- Conducting neonatal resuscitation and providing immediate newborn care.
- Educating mothers and families on safe motherhood, breastfeeding, family planning, and newborn care.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and reports.
- Ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control measures.
- Participating in perinatal audits, ward rounds, and quality improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and licensed by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK).
- Valid NCK practicing license.
- At least 1 year of experience in a maternity unit (Level 3 or above) is an added advantage.
- Additional certification in Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC) or Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) is desirable.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills.
