Mechanical Technician (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning -HVAC).
Job Purpose:
- The Mechanical Technician – Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning will be responsible for conducting inspection, installation, testing, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems at the Cardiothoracic Centre to ensure their efficient and reliable operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning equipment faults in a timely manner.
- Carry out installation, testing, and commissioning of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning works.
- Conduct periodic preventive maintenance of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning equipment.
- Proactively inspect Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning installations and identify potential issues.
- Perform reactive repair and maintenance of Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems as required.
- Assist in diagnosing faults in other mechanical installations when assigned.
- Collect and document information on mechanical installations for input into the Integrated Health Information Management System (I-HMIS).
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working with Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning installations and related equipment.
- Membership with a relevant professional body is desirable.
- Previous experience with AHUs, Split Units, VRFs, VRVs, extract fans, and refrigerators.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and self-drive with ability to work under minimal supervision.
