CREDIT ANALYST
The role holder is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal credit policies and procedures and facilitating management of credit risk in line with CBK prudential guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with all internal and regulatory credit/other portfolio related policies.
- Ensure high turnaround time (TAT) for Credit proposals.
- Ensure that all appraisal decisions meet the agreed Service Level Agreement.
- Co-ordinate efforts together with Internal Audit and Branches to ensure adherence to the Credit Policy and lending guidelines
- Review loan security margins as per the existing market trends and advise the management on any necessary reviews.
- Reviewing and making recommendations relating to all new loan facilities.
- Ensuring proper reporting, documentation and review to determine that lending to the respective segments is within acceptable risk.
- Management of credit risks through analysis and recommendation of approvals for facilities within the Institutions tolerable risk levels
- Carry out other assigned tasks by the Chief Credit Officer
Minimum qualification and experience required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or any other relevant business-related degree.
- Minimum of 5 years’ banking experience with at least 3 years’ experience in Credit Analysis.
- Professional qualification in Credit will be an added advantage.

- Substantial knowledge of credit and risk analysis
- Excellent analytical skills
- In-depth industry and product knowledge
- Computer literacy with good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and other relevant applications.
- Good knowledge of regulatory policies and guidelines
- Knowledge of the Kenyan economy and market dynamics
