Job Purpose

  • The Director, Clinical Services will provide strategic leadership in planning, coordinating and delivering high-quality healthcare services across the Hospital. This role ensures compliance with national health policy, professional ethics and institutional standards while driving innovation, efficiency and optimal patient outcomes.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will:
  • Lead the strategic direction and delivery of specialized clinical services.
  • Develop and enforce clinical policies, procedures and professional standards.
  • Manage hospital-wide healthcare programs and optimize patient flow.
  • Ensure proper management and accountability of all resources within the clinical directorate.
  • Conduct regular clinical audits and ward rounds to ensure service excellence.
  • Champion clinical research, innovation and technology adoption.
  • Foster strategic partnerships with national and international health stakeholders.
  • Align hospital services with national health policy through active engagement.
  • Manage and lead clinical teams for excellence in service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Maintain databases of clinical assets, trials and intellectual property.
  • Analyze clinical outcomes and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and submit Board and Management reports.
  • Provide governance and operational oversight of clinical services.
  • Implement recommendations of internal and external audits.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned.

Key Qualifications and Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS),
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s degree in a health-related field from a recognized institution;
  • Valid practicing license.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body.
  • Specialist recognition certificate in a clinical field will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with 5 years in senior management level or a comparable position.
  • Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Job Purpose

  • The Director, Finance and Planning will provide strategic leadership and expert guidance in financial management, budgetary control, strategic planning, and performance monitoring. This role is critical to ensuring optimal resource utilization, financial sustainability and compliance with statutory and regulatory frameworks, all in support of the Hospital’s strategic objectives.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director will:
  • Lead the development and implementation of financial policies, strategies and systems.
  • Oversee financial control, reporting and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Direct finance and accounting operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Prepare and present timely financial reports to management and the Board.
  • Implement recommendations of internal and external audits.
  • Safeguard hospital assets through robust internal control systems.
  • Advise on payments for projects, services and programs.
  • Drive strategic planning and performance monitoring across the Hospital.
  • Lead the budgeting process and ensure effective budgetary control.
  • Develop financial strategies for long-term sustainability.
  • Coordinate planning, monitoring and evaluation functions.
  • Prepare and submit Board and Management reports.
  • Manage and lead finance and planning teams for excellence in service delivery.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Commerce, Business Management, Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option), or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s degree in any of the following: Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration,
  • Finance or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Professional certification: CPA (K), CFA, ACCA, CISM, or CISA.
  • Registration with ICPAK or equivalent professional body.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with 5 years in senior management level or a comparable position.
  • Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.
