Job Purpose
The job holder is responsible for co-ordinating, formulating and implementing the corporate budget, providing quarterly and annual performance management reports, analyzing costs, forecasting, and providing financial recommendations to guide decision making and effective management of financial resources.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Designing, planning, co-ordinating, compiling, monitoring and reporting on the overall consolidated budget for the Authority;
- Reviewing financial data to provide insights into future financial performance and identify areas for improvement;
- Providing financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making;
- Evaluating investment opportunities, assess financial risks, and develop business plans that align with the airport’s strategic objectives and guide management accordingly;
- Analysing, reporting and monitoring the business performance through timely variance analysis and reporting;
- Interpreting trends and indicators and advising management on the corrective actions;
- Developing, maintaining and analysing short, medium and long range forecasts for the Authority;
- Monitoring and analyzing the revenue streams of the Authority and advising on the corrective action;
- Reviewing the corporate cash flows and investments of the Authority;
- Identifying, developing and implementing management accounting policies, procedures and controls;
- Reviewing the costing transactions to continuously advice on the optimal pricing and cost saving strategies;
- Monitoring the budget consumption and advising management on the corrective actions;
- Analyzing new projects for the authority and advising on the financial viability; and
- Authorizing and checking the accuracies of payments of the Authority.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- Member of ICPAK or related professional body and in good standing
- Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- Minimum period of ten (10) years relevant work experience three (3) of which must be in a managerial/supervisory position
- Proficiency in computerized environment and ERP systems

Method of Application
Job Purpose
The job holder will be responsible for regulating entry/exit and ground repositioning of aircraft on the apron through radio telephony for orderly movement of air traffic.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Marshalling aircraft into/out of aircraft bay/aircraft parking space for success of arrival and departure activities of the flight turnaround schedules;
- Inspecting the bay to ensure it is free of Foreign Object Debris (FODs) for the safety of aircraft, passengers, ground crew and ground support equipment and appliances;
- Operating Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS);
- Operating lead service vehicle (Follow Me Car);
- Guiding flight into and out of allocated bay safely;
- Controlling of ground flight movements using International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and recommended practices;
- Operating passenger boarding bridges for safe embarking and disembarking of passengers;
- Uploading air traffic movement into the Airport Operations Data Base (AODB)/ Daily Aircraft Movement Records (DAMR);
- Enforcing of airside operations safe standard rules and regulations;
- Enforcing airside safety by ensuring that safety regulations, IATA and ICAO and other internationally recognized standards are adhered to all the time;
- Inspecting the Apron for any hazards, Oil spillage, FODs to ensure safety of the passengers, aircraft, vehicles, equipment and people on the airside;
- Collecting and recording data to show the number of aircraft handled as well for management decision-making;
- Docking and retracting the air bridges for embarking and disembarking passengers to ensure passenger safety;
- Marshalling and monitoring aircraft movement into and out of the apron through aeronautical radio telephony communication;
- Filling in the daily aircraft records for the billing, parking and air bridge charges;
- Reporting of any incidents / accidents on the ramp for further action;
- Overseeing the refueling of aircraft at the airside to ensure they comply with safety requirements; and
- Directing the safe movement of passengers, vehicles, equipment and airport operators at the airside.
Key Qualifications and Experience
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Grade C (Plain) or equivalent and C- (Minus) for those from marginalized areas, minority groups and Persons with Disabilities
- Certificate in Airport Operations will be an added advantage
- Working experience in Ground Flight Safety will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in Computer applications
- Age – Not more than 26 years (Born on or after 1st January, 1999) and not more than 28 years (Born on or after 1st January 1997) for those from marginalized areas, minority groups and Persons with Disabilities
Terms and Conditions of Service
- The appointment for Apron Controllers will be on contract for an initial one (1) year on-the job training and thereafter appointment on permanent and pensionable terms depending on the outcome of the training.
