Job Purpose/Your Role

  • The purpose of the position is to strategically give visibility to the company’s brand through Marketing, Public Relations and Digital Communication. This include overall responsibility for internal & external communications and crisis management. The job holder will position the organization and her services to local & regional clients, build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers and execute strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives. This is a strategic, high-impact role ideal for a results- driven professional who thrives in fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the company’s Marketing and Communications strategy.
  • Act as the Brand Custodian internally and externally and develop content and campaigns on brand and strategy, tailored appropriately to the business needs, the target audiences and the media channels.
  • Drive brand experience campaigns that aim at customer acquisition and customer value management.
  • Manage public relations initiatives, including media relations, and corporate communications to enhance the company’s reputation and visibility.
  • Provide leadership in business development and the plans thereof for the Marketing and Communications function.
  • Ensure equitable development of markets, in terms of depth and quality of Marketing and Communication services to optimise portfolio in support of broader strategic aims.
  • Oversee the design and coordination of specific retail-related promotions and campaigns.
  • Oversee the planning and organising of the company’s corporate events, including the Market reports, client networking events and the preparation of annual events
  • Oversee all communications and liaise with advertising and other agencies and distributors on marketing campaigns.
  • Set stretch strategic targets for the teams and deliver customer-focused outcomes and standards.
  • Develop mechanisms for the engagement of Marketing, PR and Communication staff ensuring effective communication and participation in corporate initiatives.
  • Ensure the Company operates ethically and complies fully with all legal, statutory and regulatory requirements for the Marketing, PR and Communication function.
  • Ensure that the Marketing, PR and Communication Department complies fully with H & S requirements and that the team adheres to Risk Management.
  • Oversee and effectively manage the budgets for Marketing, PR and Communication Department and maintain effective budgetary control and management to achieve operational efficiencies and value for money.

Required Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in business management, Commerce, Economics , marketing of related field. MBA qualification would be an added advantage.
  • 10+ years working experience with at least 5 years in a senior marketing and communications role.
  • Good knowledge of the Kenyan economy and key factors driving the retail industry.
  • Knowledge of retail marketing and the general trade environment in the country and region.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, creative thinker with a passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages tailored to different audiences.
  • strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms, including content management systems, email marketing software, and social media management tools.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve goals and objectives.
