Job Specification
Duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail;

• Identifying the chemical and consumables required for an experiment;
• Collecting and preparing samples and specimens, managing and safely disposing samples and specimens;
• Maintaining the inventory of laboratory equipment; 
• Carrying out experimental work;
• Undertaking analytical work; 
• Maintaining and preserving specimens and cultures; 
• Recording of experimental data; 
• Setting and maintaining laboratory equipment; 
• Maintaining laboratory records; and 
• Carrying out demonstrations of laboratory functions to clients/visitors.

Person Specification 
For appointment to this grade a candidate must have: –

• Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines; Applied Biology, Food technology, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution;
• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum grade of C plus (C+) or equivalent;

Proficiency in computer applications;
