Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
Person Specifications (Minimum Requirements): For appointment to this grade, an Officer must have:
- Cumulative service period of fifteen (15) years relevant work experience, five (5) of which should have been at Senior Managerial position or a comparable position in the public or private sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Accounting/Finance option), Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Auditing, Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Certified Public Accountants (CPA-K) or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) Part III from a recognized institution;
- Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
- A valid practicing license where applicable from a recognized institution.
- Membership to the relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
This cadre will be responsible for providing overall direction and leadership of the internal audit function for planning and conducting operational, financial and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and organizational risk in the Authority.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director, Internal Audit shall:
- Overseeing examination on a test basis of evidence supporting amounts and disclosures in the Authority’s financial statements;
- Assessing accounting policies used;
- Advising on methods and procedures of proper and effective internal control methods;
- Ensuring accountable records are accurate;
- Identifying any accounting errors, cases of fraud and initiating investigations;
- Reviewing and recommending the strengthening of internal control systems;
- Assessing the level of risk management strategies implementation in the Authority; and
- Providing assurance that the financial statements are in conformity with the Laws and statutes governing the Authority.

Responsibilities:
The Social Health Authority (SHA) is seeking a dedicated Principal Provider Management Officer. This role focuses on supervising and enhancing health facilities assessment, onboarding, and ensuring compliance with quality standards to improve service delivery and accessibility for SHA members.
Job Purpose: This cadre is responsible for supporting adherence and public awareness on referral guidelines and Empanelment of healthcare providers and ensuring they are operating in line with the set industry and professional standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervising Health Facilities Assessment and Onboarding.
- Preparing strategies for assessing and onboarding healthcare providers (HCPs).
- Collaborating with Legal Services and Supply Chain Management to ensure all empanelled HCPs are duly contracted.
- Coordinating necessary reviews of the SHI Act and proposing amendments aligned with quality standards.
- Assisting in spearheading forums for engaging healthcare providers to enhance collaboration and service delivery.
- Liaising with Supply Chain Management and Legal Services on the preparation of empanelment of overseas HCPs.
- Implementing the Kenya Quality Model of Health (KQMH) in empanelled healthcare providers to uphold quality standards.
- Assisting in the preparation of concept papers, Board papers, periodic progress reports, and annual reports.
