JOB DESCRIPTION
- Prepare and cook a full range of traditional and contemporary dim sum items including dumplings, bao buns, siu mai, har gow, spring rolls, and other steamed, pan-fried, or deep-fried dishes.
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Follow authentic recipes while also contributing to menu development with creative dim sum innovations.
- Ensure all food preparation is carried out in accordance with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate food production and maintain service timing.
- Monitor inventory of ingredients and prepare food orders in advance of shortages.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dim sum preparation and steaming stations.
- Assist with training junior kitchen staff on dim sum techniques and kitchen safety.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Dim Sum Cook or in a similar role at a Pan-Asian or high-end restaurant.
- Proven ability to make a variety of dim sum from scratch with strong knowledge of Asian ingredients and techniques.
- Culinary training or certification is an advantage.
- High attention to detail, creativity, and passion for Asian cuisine.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
