Requirements for Appointment:
Degree in Mechanical ,transport planning management/ transport economics/ transport engineering/ business administration or any other related field.
Knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than seven (7) years, three (3) of which must have been at senior management level in a public or private sector.
Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant legislation including the constitution of Kenya, County Government Act.
Knowledge of the Mechanical Sector sector in Kenya and its standards.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implementing and assisting in the review of the transport safety policies, maintenance rules/regulations, motor transport standard operating procedures (SOPs);
Analyzing the transport needs of the departments and making appropriate recommendations to address the needs;
Conducting regular checks of all vehicles to ensure that they are in working conditions;
Preparing and monitoring fleet schedules;
Ensuring timely renewal of insurance covers for motor vehicles;
Ensuring observance of road safety standards;
Keeping proper inventory of all vehicles;
Maintaining vehicle data on fuel fill ups, tire replacements, and fluid fill ups and maintenance schedules;
Writing reports and documentation
Provide technical advice on maintenance of vehicles, plant and machinery
Supervising of mechanics, artisans and other junior staff
Provide monthly and quarterly reports on maintenance services done on vehicles, plants and machineries.
Provide technical advice to the management
Any other duties assigned to by management
