Customer Service Coordinator – Counter
Job Purpose:
- The counter team is responsible for ensuring our customers have a smooth and effective import / export release process. They deliver the highest levels of quality and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd.
Job Responsibilities:
- OBL issuance and acceptance
- Container releases – Print delivery orders as well as make amendments, when and if needed, and update it in the custom system immediately
- Check & verify that documents presented at counter are correct and as per agents manual, thereby ensuring quick and smooth delivery of documents to customers
- Local document stamping- Ensure mandatory requirements have been fulfilled prior to release of Original Bills of Ladings or Delivery Orders to customer
- Payment postings – Work on cash outstanding on daily basis to reconcile accounts and identify missed collection cases
- Maintaining Blank BL form stationary record as per the process for OBL printing facility at customer premises
- Process BL amendments in urgent cases
- Be proactive in responding to daily emails
Requirements & Job Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent
- Very good command of written and spoken English
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Core understanding of the Kenyan regulations governing the documentation required for release of cargo.
- Understanding of the B/L pre-checks prior to signing
- Dispute resolution while adhering to internal regulations and KPI’s.
- Able to work well with others and follow guidelines
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good time management.
