Marketing and Storytelling Fellow

Responsibilities

Brand & Product Messaging:

  • Support in refining brand and product messaging, highlighting the value propositions of ElevateHR’s platform, payroll outsourcing, and HR consulting services.
  • Tailor messaging to resonate with HR professionals seeking innovative HR solutions.

Brand Storytelling:

  • Contribute to developing and executing storytelling strategies that showcase impact and client success stories.
  • Craft narratives that position our startups as enablers of HR innovation and transformation.

Marketing Material Creation:

  • Write engaging copy for blog posts, social media, presentations, website content, and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to produce high-quality marketing materials.

Content Creation:

  • Develop content that educates, informs, and engages HR professionals (blogs, case studies, articles, and testimonials).
  • Support the creation and distribution of thought-leadership content in HR tech, payroll, and consulting.

Digital Marketing & Events Support:

  • Assist in planning, promoting, and executing digital campaigns, webinars, and online events.
  • Support post-event follow-up and engagement activities to drive community building and lead generation.

Market Research & Lead Support:

  • Conduct research on related industry,  products, services, consumers and other target markets for more targeted marketing.
  • Support marketing initiatives by helping generate quality leads and tracking sales pipeline performance.

General Marketing Duties:

  • Manage social media content scheduling, performance tracking, and reporting.
  • Participate in marketing team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support marketing projects.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Recent graduate or awaiting graduation in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field. A high school diploma with a minimum B+ (or equivalent) is required.
  • Writing Ability: Strong copywriting or personal writing experience; a genuine love for storytelling and communication.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and consistency in content creation and execution.
  • Collaboration: Team player who works well in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Marketing Knowledge (preferred): Basic understanding of marketing principles or coursework in related areas.

  • We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our growing team. As an SDR, you will play a crucial role in expanding our client base among the African diaspora and contributing to our mission of making African property investment accessible and secure for our clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • List Building and Prospecting:
  • Conduct thorough research to identify and build lists of potential clients within the African diaspora.
  • Utilize various tools and databases to gather relevant information on prospects.
  • Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate prospect information.
  • Outreach and Lead Generation:
  • Initiate contact with potential clients through multiple channels (email, phone, social media, etc.).
  • Craft personalized and compelling outreach messages to engage prospects.
  • Qualify leads based on established criteria and schedule appointments for senior sales team members.
  • Market Research and Insights:
  • Stay informed about African real estate markets and trends.
  • Gather intelligence on competitor activities and market dynamics.
  • Provide regular reports on market insights and prospecting activities.
  • Pipeline Management:
  • Track and manage your sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and progression of leads.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads.
  • Client Education:
  • Educate prospects on the African property market and Roots Africa’s unique value proposition.
  • Address initial queries and concerns, providing basic information about our services and processes.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting:
  • Meet or exceed monthly targets for qualified leads and appointments set.
  • Maintain detailed records of all prospecting activities and outcomes.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to share insights and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 3 to 6 months of experience in sales, preferably in real estate or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of the African diaspora community and its needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales prospecting tools.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
