In this Business Development Manager position
- Define the country’s business development strategy in line with country business strategy, financial objectives, Group guidelines and policies for medium to large new business opportunities
- Set and implement business development plans and budgets, account management approach and account plans
- Lead strategic business development activities and initiatives across the country with significant impact on overall results
- Drive the country’s market growth and retention rate.
- Support customer strategies and contract negotiations
- Achieve pricing strategy that is consistent with the business objectives of the country
- Direct market studies and feasibility studies to assess market potential
- Support team to develop major leads, prepare proposals, negotiate and convert business
- Build relationships and co-ordination strategies with local businesses to acquire resources, enhance working processes and productivity and to create integrated sales.
- Facilitate alignment of global strategies with the country’s strategy and ensures coordination of lobal efforts within the count
- Drive business development synergies within the country and decide on areas for improvement based on pipeline reporting
- Interpret key trends and developments impacting business and identify change needs within the country level business development plans
- Promote systems for monitoring competitive activity and dissemination of information and best practices to relevant parties
- Imbibe best in class sales and business development practices for the country
- Influence innovation that directly influence the way the country is operating and making money
- Analyze complex issues with multiple dimensions and modify business development methods and techniques
- Reach agreement with external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating
- Negotiate and authorize critical agreements/ contracts, changing terms and conditions significantly where required
- Lead, direct, coach and develop performance of the country’s business development team.

- Broad understanding of the freight forwarding industry
- Excellent presentation and communication skills

- Degree/equivalent in marketing
- 5- 8 Years professional experience within the freight industry and quality role (or similar service industry). Experience in sales environment with proven record advantageous.
