Key responsibilities

  • Collaboratively, work closely with other team members to implement strategies for the allocated Bank partners for profitable business acquisition for all lines of businesses (GI, EMC, Life & Pension).
  • Develop bank specific strategy to unlock potential for all lines of businesses.
  • Align drivers of business to deliver on all agreed service level agreements for sales and after sales support for specific banks.
  • Communicate Partners expectations and provide insights back to business to deliver competitively on a products and processes.
  • Spearhead team working and knowledge sharing.
  • Met profitable business growth objectives for each assigned Partner through new business and retention of existing business.
  • Develop training calendars for Bank Partners on products and process and oversee implementation of all training programmes for the assigned bank partners.
  • Manage relationships of key accounts and corporate clients to support partner sales officers and Britam Banca regional relationship executives to close on the leads in their respective regions.
  • Oversee the delegated role of preparation of accurate and competitive quotations for insurance business. Ensure accuracy and prompt sharing with the potential clients/partners.
  • Responsible for coordinating tenders/RFPs processes to ensure required documentation is available on time.
  • Participate in product development and delivery for the right fit of products to the banca partners.
  • Ensure prompt retention strategy is in place and implemented for the assigned banks to achieve the required retention ratio.
  • Coordinate Bank Partner evaluation and implement recommendations.
  • Collaboratively, guide and work together with the other banca team members to achieve the division’s goals and objectives i.e. Alternative life income through rolls out of partnership Retail life Network partnership with specific banks.
  • Ensure debt management in line with the credit control set for all businesses booked by self and for the assigned bank partners.
  • Ensure you to facilitate quarterly service meetings for all assigned partners.
  • Ensure preparation of expense budgets and revenue targets as shall be stipulated from time to time.
  • Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Bancassurance or Supervisory Authority.
  • Oversee and coordinate the regional relationship teams to: –
  • Builds, maintains, and sustains business relationships with the regional bank partners’ teams, Business development officers, Credit officers, Relationship Managers and Direct Sales teams.
  • Actively manage relationships with all branch staff to ensure smooth running of the distribution channels in delivering targets.
  • Integrate well with all members of the team into a harmonious unit committed to the team vision and direction within the team (Intra-team).

Relationship building & sales management.

  • Builds, maintains, and sustains business relationships with the bank partners’ middle level managers teams i.e., Business development Managers/Head of Sales, Senior Relationship Managers.
  • Active management of relationships with all bank partners to ensure smooth running of the distribution channels in delivering targets.
  • Integrate well with all members of the team into a harmonious unit committed to the team vision and direction within the team (Intra-team)
  • Takes personal responsibility.
    Receptive to constructive criticism, feedback and ideas from supervisors, business partners and colleagues.
  • Maintain event calendars for all partners to increase team building and synergy while ensuring Britam brand building.
  • Applies knowledge, resources, and experience to resolve problems.
  • Ensure to facilitate an after-sales service support including provision of the requisite contracting documentation such as policy documents, cover notes etc.
  • Ensure that all SLAs and TATs are met and report any deviations to inform corrective action.
  • Maintain an activities tracker that ensures that all strategic initiatives are well always tracked for the allocated banks.

Training

  • Ensures empowerment trainings on products and processes to our mutual bank partners (Across all lines of businesses) takes place as and when required.
  • Ensures that induction trainings are carried out for all new partner officers on Britam processes and procedures.
  • Ensure that customers are well appraised on the solutions taken up through training, write ups and after sales follow up for feedback.

Reporting

  • Ensure that stipulated weekly and monthly reports are prepared and shared within the agreed timelines and in the format stipulated.
  • Ensure that monthly expense reports are prepared and submitted within the stipulated processes and procedures.

Knowledge, experience and qualifications required

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or any other business-related degree.
  • Professional qualification in Insurance (ACII, FLMI or IIK)
  • 6-8 years’ experience in insurance/banking/financial services two of which must be in relationship management
