Qualifications & Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or a related field (
- A master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage .
- A minimum of [insert number] years of progressive experience in urban planning or development control, with at least 6 years with 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of urban planning regulations, policies, and development control processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in planning software and tools (e.g., GIS, CAD).
- A relevant professional certification or membership (e.g., AICP, RICS) is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:-
- Provide leadership in the development and implementation of forward planning strategies.
- Oversee and coordinate development control processes to ensure alignment with planning policies.
- Review and evaluate development proposals, ensuring they adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of planners and development control officers.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, and the public, to ensure transparent and efficient planning processes.
- Monitor and assess ongoing projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with planning guidelines.
- Prepare reports and policy briefs for senior management and relevant authorities.
- Contribute to the formulation of long-term urban planning objectives and development strategies.
